Now it’s even easier to bike to Morris Plains businesses! Three new original, artistic bike racks on Speedwell Avenue show the incredible power of collaboration. In 2024, Downtown Morris Plains launched a public bike rack design contest. Submissions were reviewed by a panel of local judges. The winning design was created by a local artist, fabricated by locally owned Manning Metalworks and funded through a grant from Morris Arts. Three racks were fabricated and installed on Speedwell Avenue in 2025, increasing access to local businesses. This Downtown Morris Plains initiative helps make our town safer and empower micro-mobility, while incorporating art in a meaningful way.
Thank you to our design contest participants, judges, and the Borough of Morris Plains for helping make this project a success.
